Reservations and General Sale Info.
All reservations/wait list are free to make. To make a reservation, please visit our reservation page above in the tab section and or email Marisa at [email protected].
Once the kid of your choice is born we request a non refundable deposit of 50% of the total price of the kid and or adult animal. (Deposits are only refunded if we decide to retain kid, if kid passes away while in our hands, and if they have a genetic disorder and or disqualification has been discovered.) Once the deposit is received, we will hold/reserve that kid/adult for 4 weeks without payment in full amount. (Animals must be picked up/transported and paid for within those 4 weeks.)
(Unless discussed otherwise, see bottle raising below)
After 4 weeks, without further payments, pickup and or transportation, the animal will be offered for sale to others and your current payment will be forfeited. If an animal is not transferred on an agreed upon date, a "boarding" fee of $5 a day will be applied.
Any reserved kid and or adult must be paid in full by the time of pickup/transportation. No exceptions.
The buyer is responsible for payments of the following (if requested and or need):
-Health certificate and vet check.
-Cost of any extra blood tests that your state may require or the buyer wants done.
-Shipping and Transportation
Ridgefield Farm is not under obligation to take any animal back once it has left the property.
All sales are final.
*In the event the buyer chooses to sell a Ridgefield Farm goat in the future, we request first right of refusal.
We (Ridgefield Farm) cannot guarantee they (kid/s) will mature to the quality as they are expected to be by us and or potential buyer. We cannot guarantee their mature conformation, general appearance, udder attachment, height, show ability, etc. An animal represents a genetic package, no guarantee they will mature to the quality as they expected to be by us (Ridgefield Farm) and or potential buyer. We are selling genetic potential.
**If you are under the age of 18, we require that we speak with and or discuss with parent/legal guardian about cost, transportation, pickup, etc. Thank you for your understanding.

Bottle Raising
In the past we have done a combination of dam raising and bottle raised kids. Starting in 2025, we will be strictly bottle raising ALL of our kids. Bottle kids will only be offered to buyers who are experienced bottle feeders and or goat knowledgeable homes. We like to keep the bottle kids until they are 2 weeks old to ensure they are healthy and are fully trained to the bottle. *New and non experienced goat owners are ALWAYS welcome for a hands on lesson on bottle feeding and we may sell a kid/s on the bottle around 8-10 weeks old if the buyer is committed to feeding a bottle until they are at least 12 weeks old.
*If you are not comfortable with bottle feeding then at 12 weeks old, the kids will be weaned and ready to go to new homes.
All the kids that are sold at or after 12 weeks have been given a preventative coccidiosis supplement (Total Toltrazuril 5%) and will receive their full vaccinations at 6 and 10 weeks old. All of the dams are vaccinated a month prior to kidding to provide immunity to the kids through the colostrum.

Vet Check
A purchaser has the right to a full veterinary check under their own expense for the animal they have a reservation on. Our herd does get health checks throughout the Spring/Summer/ and fall season as we do need health inspections for attending ADGA shows. It is usually less than $10 per goat.
*Our WHOLE herd is tested yearly for CAE, CL, and Johne's. Please refer to the tab above "Disease Testing Results."
